Before I aroused great passion for SYSU Zhuhai Campus (simplified as "Zhong Zhu"), many people have shared their love for this campus with me. After making a history of 11 years with bitterness and hardship, she is highly praised by people with pride and affection. "Ten years make oceans of love", I tasted the sentence and then fell into contemplation.
Ruohai Lake, Yinhu Lake, Suiyue Lake, and Mishui Lake, these names stand for beauty and bear precious memories of the campus. Water flows through here with a rippling sound, recording everything happened. Along the way, even without explanations from any people, one can feel close to her emotionally and get encouraged.
In the year of reconstructing and reshaping, dust was blown in the sky. Now I could not help getting surprise when I see the bustling and vibrant campus before my eyes. Zhuhai, at that time, must have greeted her with incomparable hospitality and opened arms just as I did. When I set my foot on this land for the first time, smiling faces on the campus led me to yearning for the future. I did not have a chance to witness her birth at the beginning of this century, but I have seen the maturity of her after she went through challenges and difficulties in the past ten years. I heard that she realized Zhuhai people's dream of founding a university, but now she is accompanied by many other universities in the same land.
The teaching building is known as the longest in Asia, so students who ride bikes under it must feel a kind of particular pride. The continuous mountains, the grand book-shaped library, and a hidden rugged path in between create a landscape. As an old saying goes, "Diligence makes a path to the mountain of books ". I am very familiar with the saying, but I still got amazed at the moment of crossing through the Rainbow Gate. Its designer, Moni, really got insight into the elegance of Chinese.
She started from scratch and has been advancing for over ten years. Her pace became steadier. Visited the bustling campus where people come and go, all things including the landscapes and customs, the sunrise and sunset, the food tasted here, and the people encountered here filled my heart all at once. I can say that "The great beauty also lies here". Even if she has to see students graduate, experiencing the growing pains, she still grows in beauty and honor as always.
