On May 19 and 20, the 1st German Studies Salon: Workshop on Goethe’s Faust — A Solo Act by Haydar Zorlu, was held with joint effort of Department of German and Center for German Studies at School of Foreign Languages, Sun Yat-sen University. Mr. Haydar Zorlu, a famous German stage actor, gave wonderful performance and lecture about Faust and classical literature to students and faculty at the Department of German.

Mr. Zorlu also had a discussion with students about literature and play. He thought that everyone had a unique understanding about the play and there was no specific definition of it. He believed that the play was an art in which the stage actors brought the characters and emotions in the script to the audiences to meet their need for classical culture.
