On August 29, SYSU Hanchao Entrepreneurship Team won the Championship of the Kunshan Cup National University Entrepreneurship Competition, which was hold in Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, for their “Hanchao Ecological Water Purification System”.

The Kunshan Cup National University Entrepreneurship Competition was sponsored by the Ministry of Education, and organized by the Kunshan municipal government. Since it launch in November 2009, it received great nation-wide attention. 4154 teams from 636 universities in 29 provinces attended the competition and a total of 400 teams entered the national semi-finals after university preliminaries and provincial quarter-finals. The panel of judge selected 50 teams for the national final through anonymous appraisal. Hanchao Entrepreneur team and Zero Decibel Entrepreneur Team advanced into top 50.

The national final took place in KunshanCity from August 22-29. All the contests in the final are played in accordance with the knock-out system, and contesting teams went through four rigorous sets of cuts: “Top 50 to 15”, “Top 15 to 6”, “Top 6 to 3” and “Top 3 to 1”. With their undoubtable team strength and indomitable spirit, Hanchao Entrepreneurship Team from Sun Yat-sen University finally earn the contest’s highest honor, the championship of the national final, and won 1 million yuan for venture funding from the competition’s sponsor.
