In order to celebrate the 85th Anniversary of Sun Yat-sen University, SYSU Alumni Association of Chaozhou and SYSU Alumni Association of Shantou co-hosted “SYSU Chaozhou-shantou Alumni Art Work Exhibition” at Shantou Library from November 6 to 8. As representatives of Sun Yat-sen University, Zhu Kongjun, Deputy Secretary of SYSU Party Committee, and Xu Dongli, Secretary General of SYSU Alumni Association, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

At the opening ceremony, Chen Rong, member of Shantou Municipal Standing Committee and director of Publicity Department, was present and made a speech. Meanwhile, Huang Zanfa, President of Shantou SYSU Alumni Association, extended warm congratulations to the alma mater on behalf of Chaozhou and Shantou alumnus.

SYSU Deputy Secretary Zhu Kongjun briefed the Chaozhou and Shantou alumnus on the current state of SYSU. He also pointed out that Alumni event of this mode which is jointly held by Alumni Associations of different places is well worth of following and promoting as it not only benefit the trans-regional communication among different alumni associations but also show the good cooperative spirit of SYSU alumnus.

It is reported that the exhibition, whose theme is to praise the motherland, to celebrate the alma mater and to carry forward Chinese advanced culture, exhibited over 80 pieces of artifice by the Chaozhou and Shantou alumnus, in various art forms including calligraphy, fine arts, photography and ceramics, etc.
