May 21st, afternoon, Prof. Liang Qingyin, Standing vice-secretary of Party Committee of SYSU and professor of logic, met with Ralph Johnson, Academician of Royal Canadian College and Senior Research Fellow of University of Windsor in the South Campus of SYSU, both exchanged views on the relevant field of cooperation between SYSU and the University of Windsor.

As the founder of Modern Logic and one of the leaders, Prof. Ralph Johnson is currently serving as the editor for informal logicians and Senior Research Fellow of Reasoning, Argumentation and Rhetoric atthe University of Windsor. Atthe meeting Liang Qingyin and Ralph Johnson exchanged the state and devolpment of philosophy and logic of SYSU and that of the University of Windsor and reached a cooperation agreement onpersonnel training, academic staff exchanges, research projects and others between the SYSU’s Institute of Logic and Cognition and University of Windsor’s Research Centre for reasoning, argument and rhetoric. The two sides had also exchanged views on aspects including strengthening of both students, faculty exchange, research and others.

Invited by the SYSU’s humanities and social sciences research centre of the ministry of education for academic purpose, Prof. Ralph Johnsonwill stay at SYSU for a duration of 7 days. During this period he will give three reports at the institute of Logic and Cognition.
