Reporters learned from SYSU that Xu Ningsheng has been appointed president of SYSU. Huang Daren has left his post because of his age.

Xu Ningsheng, male, was born in July 1957 and started to work in October 1975. He was admitted to CCP in October 1999. He won his PhD from Aston University in the UK in 1986 and became a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was appointed the vice president of SYSU in February 2004.
