On the morning of March 16, 2016, a five-member delegation led by Prof. Kerstin Tham, Vice-Chancellor of Malm? University, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU). Members of the delegation also included Prof. Hans Lindquist, Pro Vice- Chancellor Research, Ms. Charlotte A. Moritz, Pro Vice-Chancellor Collaboration and Innovation, Prof. Tapio Salonen from Faculty of Health and Society, and Dr. Ingrid Dackert, Dean of Faculty of Culture and Society. The delegation was accompanied by Ms. Yuan L?li, Deputy Director of International Relation Division, Foreign Affairs Office, People's Government of Guangdong Province.
Prof. Wei Minghai, Vice President of SYSU, met with the guests in Zhongshan Building on South Campus. Ms. Xu Yao, Deputy Director of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, representatives from School of Sociology and Anthropology, and School of Public Health were also present at the meeting.

Prof. Wei Minghai extended a warm welcome to the guests and introduced SYSU’s history, disciplinary development and campus construction, especially the international cooperation and exchange. He said that SYSU has kept close and friendly cooperative relations with universities in Sweden, and hopes to conduct cooperation at extensive and multiple levels.
Prof. Kerstin Tham introduced the general situation of Malm? University. She pointed out that Malm? University attaches great importance to scientific research and has strength in sustainable urban development. She also stressed that Malm? University hopes to establish cooperative relations with universities in China.
The delegation also discussed possible collaborations in the fields of sociology, anthropology and public health.
Malm? University is a public university located in Malm?, Sweden. Founded in 1998, it is now the 8th largest university in Sweden. It has five faculties, namely, Faculty of Technology and Society, Faculty of Culture and Society, Faculty of Education and Society, Faculty of Odontology, and Faculty of Health and Society.
