SYSU Undertakes the Compilation Work for the Clinical Pathway for General Surgery Major By the Ministry of Health

The Clinical pathway is an important way for the standardized management of clinical treatment. In order to standardize clinical diagnosis and treatment course and guarantee medical quality and safety, the Ministry of Health initiated clinical pathway formulation work in March, 2009. According to the work demand and disciplinary advantage, SYSU was appointed to undertake the compilation work for the clinical pathway for general surgery major. And in 2009, clinical pathways of 7 diseases for the general surgery compiled by SUSU got approved by the experts on clinical pathway from the Ministry of Health and were finally printed and distributed. From 2009 to 2010, the Ministry of Health altogether organized the formulation work for clinical pathways of 346 diseases for 22 majors, which were compiled respectively by some local health administrative departments, medical colleges and universities directly under the Ministry of Education as well as China Stomatological Association. Among them, there are four colleges and universities directly under the Ministry of Education taking par in this work. Besides SYSU, another three universities are Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (Beijing Union Medical College), Peking University and Fudan University.
