Approved by the Administration of Social Organizations of the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province, the 1st plenary session of Guangdong Association of Oral Surgeons was held in Guangzhou recently. 168 oral surgeon representatives from 86 oral medical institutions throughout the province attended the meeting. Long Shiyun, Director of Administration of Social Organizations of the Department of Civil Affairs of Guangdong Province; Wang Xing, President of Chinese Stomatological Association; Wang Bo, Secretary-general of Chinese Stomatological Association; Luan Wenmin, Honorary President of Stomatological Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Yu Guangyan, President of Stomatological Branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Ling Junqi, President of Guangdong Stomatological Association, were invited to attend the meeting.
The meeting passed the Rules of Guangdong Association of Oral Surgeons, and elected the first council and supervisory board of Guangdong Association of Oral Surgeons. Professor Zeng Rongsheng, Vice President of Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University, was elected the first president of Guangdong Association of Oral Surgeons.
Guangdong Association of Oral Surgeons, which is attached to Hospital of Stomatology, Sun Yat-sen University, is the first approved provincial association of oral surgeons in China. After its establishment, the association will perform its professional functions of "service, coordination, self-discipline, rights safeguarding, supervision and management”, strengthen construction and management of the oral surgeon team, carry forward the humanitarian spirit of being people-oriented, healing the wounded and rescuing the dying, constantly improve the medical level and service quality of oral surgeons, and make new and greater contribution to the development of stomatology in Guangdong and the improvement of people’s oral health.
