The award conference of 2014 Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award was held in Taizhou, Jiangsu province on January 18, 2015. Three medical research achievements of Sun Yat-sen University won first prize, second prize and third prize respectively.

"The study and application of individualized treatment in nasopharyngeal carcinoma" by Prof. Ma Jun’s team at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center won first prize; “The studies of chloride channels effect on cerebrovascular remodeling and the underlying mechanisms” by Prof. Guan Yongyuan’s team at Zhongshan School of Medicine won second prize; and “Study for Treatment of Aortic Aneurysm and Dissection and Etiology” by Prof. Wang Shenming’s team at The First Affiliated Hospital won third prize.

It is learned that 239 research results (candidates) applied for the 2014 Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award. Through the review by Chinese Medical Association and the 179-member evaluation committee, 85 medical research results won the award, including 8 first prizes, 25 second prizes, 47 third prizes, 1 international cooperation prize, 2 health administration prizes, 2 medical science popularization prizes, and 1 health policy prize.
