On January 20, 2016, the delegation led by Hon. Dr. Saia Piukala, Tonga Minister for Health, visited the Hospital of Stomatology at Sun Yat-sen University. Members of the delegation also included Dr Lisiate 'Ulufonua, Dr. Amanaki Fakakovikaetau, and Ms. Potesia Cocker. Prof. Li Xiangzhi, Party Secretary of the Hospital of Stomatology, and Prof. Lin Huancai, Deputy Dean of the Hospital of Stomatology, met with the guests.

At the meeting, Hon. Dr. Saia Piukala listened to the introduction of the medical treatment, equipment and faculty development of the Hospital of Stomatology. Then, the guests visited the clinical departments at the Hospital accompanied by Prof. Lin Huancai.

The Kingdom of Tonga, also known as the Friendly Islands, is located in the South Pacific Ocean. In 2014, in response to the call of the Guangdong Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission, a team led by Prof. Lin Huancai conducted a 10-day medical tour in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands.
