On November 2nd, 2016, Professor Wang Jianping, honorary president and chief expert of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, was awarded a certificate as Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) by the Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS). The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS) is one of the places where the modern surgery originated. Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England is the greatest tribute to a surgeon awarded by RCS.
Guided by Professor Paul O’Flynn, Professor Wang Jianping and another elected surgeon, Professor Li Guoxin from Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University, read out the oath of the fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of England. Professor Paul O’Flynn and Professor Shafi Ahmed presented certificates to Professor Wang Jianping and Professor Li Guoxin. Both sides expressed hopes to enhance cooperation in Gastrointestinal surgery.

Professor Wang Jianping
Professor Wang Jianping has been engaged in general surgery for more than 30 years. He has a very rich clinical experience in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and benign anorectal diseases. Professor Wang Jianping is one of the academic leaders to promote the development of colorectal surgery in China. He iis especially good at dealing with difficult cases of colorectal surgery, such as surgery of ultra-low rectal cancer, locally recurrent rectal cancer, retroperitoneal tumor, rectal stromal tumor, Crohn's disease and ileal pouch.
