On March 16, 2018, on behalf of School of Public Health (SPH), Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), Dean Yuantao Hao signed up a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dean Michelle A. Williams, who represents Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Harvard Chan School). This signing ceremony indicates that SPH SYSU has officially joined the ‘Harvard China Health Collaborative Partnership’ (Collaborative Partnership). Established by Harvard Chan School, the Collaborative Partnership has seven domestic public health institutes, including Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Fudan University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, SYSU, Tsinghua University, and Xi’an Jiaotong University. On March 17, 2018, delegations from each institute had a whole-day discussion with Professor Winnie Yip’s team, regarding specific work after the establishment of the Collaborative Partnership.
 

Dean Yuantao Hao signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dean Michelle A. Williams. 

The aim of SPH SYSU joining Collaborative Partnership is to advance new frontiers of health policy, health system and public health research in China that may also hold global experience through joint efforts, and to train more global health professionals in China to serve China's health programs and health policy. According to the MOU, the collaborative parties intend to work together to plan and conduct activities including establishment of the Health Tracking Data System (HTS), undertaking research that addresses future challenges and current unanswered questions that would contribute to China’s health care reform. In terms of cultivation of talents, the parties will establish collaboration and exchange mode to promote the communication and cooperation between scholars/students.
