Co-sponsored by SYSU’s Institute of Logic and Cognition and the Department of Philosophy of the University of Melbourne, Australia, the 8th Logic and Cognition International Conference took place on SYSU’s south campus from Nov. 2 - 4. Scholars from Australia, Japan, New Zealand, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China convened at the conference, discussed and exchanged views regarding the current state of the logic research.

During the conference, SYSU’s Institute of Logic and Cognition signed a formal cooperation agreement with the Department of Mathematics of University of Calcutta, and reached cooperation intention on joint education programme and academic exchange with the Department of Philosophy of The University of Melbourne and the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

The Logic and Cognition International Conference has been held annually since its inception in 2002, its mission is to strengthen cooperation and communication among logic researchers in the Asian-pacific regions.
