On January 10, a delegation of young students from Iowa State in the United States visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) in Guangzhou. The group toured the university's history museum and participated in friendly cultural exchanges with local students. During the event, the American students presented a special gift to Sun Yat-sen University.

The Gift from the Youth Delegation

The youth delegation, comprising teachers and students from five universities, including Iowa State University and Coe College, majors in political science, nursing, biology, and other fields, visited SYSU as the fifth stop of their tour in Guangdong, invited by the Guangdong Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Together with 11 students from SYSU, the delegation visited the University History Museum and University Museum, immersing themselves in SYSU’s 100-year heritage and academic excellence through objects, images, and multimedia displays.

In 2023, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a speech at Welcome Dinner by Friendly Organizations in the United States, announcing that China would invite 50,000 American youths over the next five years to expand exchanges between the peoples of China and the United States, especially among the younger generation.

This visit marks a significant milestone in this vision，which built a bridge of friendship between American and Chinese students.
