On February 14, 2019, Mr. Mi Feng, Deputy Director of Department of Publicity, National Health Commission, led a team to the The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU) to learn about its culture development and promote the on-site exchange activities of “Good Doctors and Good Nurses in China”.


60 Doctors from FAH-SYSU Selected as "The Most Recommended Young and Middle-Aged Doctors in Guangzhou, Guangdong"

On February 20, 2019, 60 doctors from The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University were selected into the list of "The Most Recommended Young and Middle-Aged Doctors in Guangzhou, Guangdong" by the Guangzhou Daily Newspaper Group.



Teachers of FAH-SYSU Won Prizes in the 13th Teaching Skills Competition for Clinical Teachers of Sun Yat-sen University

On January 18, 2019, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University won “the Outstanding Organization Award” of the 13th Teaching Skills Competition for Clinical Teachers of Sun Yat-sen University. Dr. Zhou Hongyan from the Department of Neurology won the special prize with the highest score. Dr. Zhang Xinhua from Department of Surgery was awarded the First Prize.



MDT Model Adopted for Patients with Heart Failure in Dominica

Recently, Prof. Yang Zhen from Cardiology Unit of FAH-SYSU, captain of the Chinese Medical Team aiding Dominica, successfully treated a patient with heart failure by using Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) model at the Princess Margaret Hospital.



FAH-SYSU in Collaboration with UC Davis MIND Institute on Children’s Autism

On January 29, 2019, experts from The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University and UC Davis MIND Institute held a multi-party video conference to discuss the feasibility of cooperation in treating children with neurodevelopmental disorders.


The two sides introduced their respective institutions, clinical research fields and advantageous disciplines, and conducted an in-depth discussion on future cooperation models. The two sides reached a preliminary consensus to collaborate initially in joint research on children's autism, and then expand the cooperation to talent training, translational medicine, clinical trials, precision medicine and other fields.
