The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University Accredited National Clinical Teaching and Training Model Center

On December 24, 2018, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU) was accredited one of the first 75 National Clinical Teaching and Training Demonstration Centers along with West China Hospital, Sichuan University and Peking Union Medical College Hospital.

FAH-SYSU National Medical Team Awarded “Model of the New Era”

On January 5, 2019, the National Medical Team of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University was awarded “Model of the New Era” by Sun Yat-sen University.

The First Tele-consultation Conducted through FAH-SYSU Open-ended Telemedicine Platform

On December 29, 2018, the first tele-consultation was conducted through the open-ended telemedicine platform of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University for a 56-year-old patient from People's Hospital of Ledong County in Hainan.

The platform is a new information system built by FAH-SYSU since 2017. The system has been widely used in real-time clinical consultation, tele-diagnosis for medical imaging, pathology and electrocardiogram, and distance learning.


Expert from Central Michigan University College of Medicine Visited The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University

On January 7, 2019, Professor Sethu Reddy from Central Michigan University College of Medicine visited the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU).

Professor Xiao Haipeng, Vice President of SYSU and President of FAH-SYSU, professors from Department of Endocrinology and Professor Sethu Reddy discussed collaboration on training workshops, clinician training and cooperation with The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE).


The First Group of Exchange Students from Curtin University to The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University

Recently, the first group of exchange students from Curtin University began their 2-week study in The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. Seven exchange students will do rotations in departments of Cardiology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Radiology, Microsurgery, Laboratory Medicine, etc.
