Expert from Seirei Christopher University Visited The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University

On December 7, 2018, Professor Shinichi Arizono from Seirei Christopher University, Japan visited the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU).


Professor Xiao Haipeng, Vice President of SYSU and President of FAH-SYSU, as well as professors from Department of Burn Surgery, Rehabilitation Medicine and Nursing discussed collaboration on clinical research and medical education with Professor Shinichi Arizono.

Internationally Renowned Professor of Otorhinolaryngology Appointed Visiting Professor

On December 7, 2018, Professor Claus Bachert from University of Ghent, Belgium, was appointed Visiting Professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU).

Professor Claus Bachert is an internationally renowned Professor of Otorhinolaryngology, who holds positions as head of European Allergic Diseases Research Center, member of German National Academy of Sciences and Clinical Professor at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden.


The Department of Otorhinolaryngology, FAH-SYSU will jointly establish an Upper Airway Disease Research Center with The Upper Respiratory Laboratory, University of Ghent. International Exchange Classes will be held regularly to conduct collaborative research on upper airway inflammatory diseases.

The Upper Respiratory Laboratory of Ghent University, led by Professor Claus Bachert, has conducted 17 international multi-center research programs in the EU and published 610 SCI papers in the past five years.

Professor Xiao Haipeng Elected Deputy Director of Clinical Medicine Certification Working Committee, Ministry of Education

Professor Xiao Haipeng, Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University and President of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, was elected Deputy Director of The New Session of Clinical Medicine Certification Working Committee. Professor Kuang Ming, Vice President of The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, was elected committee member.

The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University to Host International Burn Society Academic Annual Meeting in 2022  
 
During the 19th Congress of International Society of Burn Injuries (ISBI), it was announced that The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (FAH-SYSU) won the right to host the Congress of the International Society of Burn Injuries (ISBI) in 2022, first-ever for Chinese medical institution to host the ISBI Annual Meeting. The congress will be held in Guangzhou and FAH-SYSU will be the main organizer.


Professor Yang Zhen Successfully Rescued a Patient Suffering Acute Myocardial Infarction Combining Cardiogenic Shock in Dominica

Professor Yang Zhen from Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University, leader of the Chinese Medical Team to Dominica successfully rescued an acute myocardial infarction patient with cardiogenic shock at PMH Hospital in Dominica.
